With Patch 2.1.2, Diablo 4 introduces a Diablo 4 items brand new affix for Nightmare Dungeons: Forgotten Altar Spawn. This change is certainly a game-changer for the high-level dungeon experience. The affix guarantees that a Forgotten Altar will spawn in the dungeon, introducing new challenges and rewards. But is it really a positive change?

From my perspective, this affix adds a fresh layer of excitement to Nightmare Dungeons. The potential for encountering a Forgotten Altar not only raises the stakes but also incentivizes players to push deeper into dungeons for more rewards. However, the random spawn mechanic could prove a bit frustrating for players who may want a more predictable experience when farming Nightmare Dungeon sigils.

It seems like the developers are really trying to push the challenge aspect with this affix, and I can appreciate that. But I think the balance of risk versus reward needs some tweaking. It could also use clearer visual cues to signal when the Forgotten Altar is near, so players aren’t caught off-guard.
